Family Camp Programs and activities
Camp Spofford provides plenty of opportunity to spend time with your family, as well as offering age-specific programs for kids and a wide array of activities for adults. The specific programs are:
Nursery (under age 3) – The nursery is designed to meet the needs of our youngest campers. They have their own fun toys, crafts, and more structured activities. We have diaper changing facilities in Nursery.
Scouts (Ages 3 and 5) – Scouts are our preschool-aged campers who are just getting to know Camp Spofford. Scouts will participate in a number of age- appropriate activities, including parachute games, singing, field games, crafts and lots of play time!
Rangers (Ages 6 and 7)- The goal of Rangers is to introduce your 6 or 7 year old camper to much more of what Camp Spofford has to offer, including archery, beach games, and field games. It’s going to be a fun-filled, action-packed week!
Explorers (Ages 8-12) – Provides over 5 hours of family-centered activities each day. Highlights include chapel, games, hiking, tubing, campfires and more. We encourage families to attend afternoon and evening activities together.
Adventurers (Ages 13-17) – (or entering 8th grade) Includes activities each day for teens to meet and hang out, such as water sports, games, competitions, chapel and more. One full-day, off-camp excursion will be planned (extra fee).
Youth Camp – Children in the age group that runs concurrent with your Family Camp Week may opt to join the Youth Camp Program as either overnight campers or Family Day Campers.
Throughout the week, adult tournaments for ages 15 and up include: bocce, croquet, shuffleboard, tennis, horseshoes, and more.
Adult Staff vs. Guests team games in softball, basketball and volleyball and perhaps compete in our Tin-Man Triathalon, consisting of swimming (450 meters), running (3.1 miles) and biking (6 miles)
You can also try waterskiing, tubing, sailing, canoeing or a pontoon boat ride.
Other area attractions include golf, hiking, mountain climbing and various other tourist attractions. And don’t forget to bring your fishing pole! We guarantee that you will have as great a time at Camp Spofford. There is always lots to do, but we highly recommend sitting at the beach as long as possible.
